It's currently Semana Santa (or Holy Week) here in Marbella, a date which normally kicks off the tourist season and is a massive week for the hospitality industries.

This year however, thanks to the lockdown measures in place to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus, Marbella's beaches are empty, the flower filled streets of the old town are empty, the bars and restaurants are all shut, some of them unfortunately perhaps not to reopen again.

However the people of Marbella have taken the crisis in their stride and are strictly abiding by the lockdown measures and staying in there houses and using a great sense of humour to do so.

Charities have also sprung into action and many well known local business have also stepped up to help in these times of need.

Marbella will get through this and we'll come out the other side better and wiser for it. For now, from the comfort of your homes, enjoy this video released by the Marbella town council.
